Coptic Stitch Bookbinding

In this workshop, we'll make a hardcover Coptic stitch journal. You'll learn to cut, drill, and cover boards, assemble the textblock, and sew with the beautiful exposed stitching that makes the Coptic structure unique. Everyone will leave with a completed book and a new set of skills.

Melanie Brauner was the owner and bookbinder at Trove Bindery in Corvallis, Oregon, specializing in restoration and custom archival boxes, and holds a BFA in Book Arts from Oregon College of Art and Craft. She is the owner of VERSO, a bookbinding, papermaking, and jewelry studio in Shoreline, Washington.
